Lion's Mane Mushroom Benefits in Children

Updated: Mar 27

I find this mushroom beneficial for young children, so I have it in Glycerite form which is a little sweet and doesn't contain alcohol. I find it very helpful when there are many fluctuations in emotions and nervous system states. So could be considered helpful with Neurodivergent children.

Nutritious Nervous System Food!

One of the benefits here is myelination. All the nerves of the body have something called a myelin sheath coating the outside edges. This helps to conduct neurotransmitters around the body such as dopamine and serotonin, which are essential for our mood and how we feel about ourself.

When nervous systems more often go into states of Fight or Flight or Freeze, the myelin sheath of the nerves can wear away... known as demyelination. Lion's Mane supports myelination of the nerves to better conduct information through them.

This is particularly helpful for the Vagus Nerve, which feeds back information about safety and support the digestive tract.
